WNEA Suggestions for Administrator Evaluation

  Teachers would like to see:

  • A separate evaluation for each administrator
  • Comment box for open ended comments
  • Guaranteed anonymity/no retaliation
  • Sufficient time to complete the evaluation
  • Adequate technology/computers to complete the survey online

  Evaluation Criteria/Questions:

  1.  Understands and recognizes good employee performance.

  2.  Provides for meaningful faculty involvement in school policy development and decision        making.

  3.  Anticipates problems with prior planning.

  4.  Has rapport with staff and fosters high morale.

  5.  Provides clear, consistent expectations for the faculty.

  6.  Uses the teacher evaluation instrument appropriately.

  7.  Views the purpose of administrations as supporting the instructional process.

  8.  Supports teachers in their professional judgments.

  9.  Follows through on commitments and promises.

  10. Has rapport and interacts with students.

  11.  Encourages open channels of communication between administration and faculty.

  12.  Supports teachers in their dealings with parents.

  13.  Enforces rules and discipline procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

  14.  Develops positive school/community relations.

  15.  Sets the tone as an instructional leader though his knowledge of the curriculum and          pedagogical practices.

  16.  Promotes collaboration and mutual sharing among faculty.

  17. Understands the processes, procedures, and job descriptions for all instructional positions         he will evaluate within the building. (Special Education, technology, speech, regular         classroom, special areas, etc)
